The concentration in Entertainment Journalism focuses on the methods and techniques for reporting, producing, and delivering entertainment and lifestyle programs and content via radio, television, mobile, Internet, and social media. This offers preparation for students to work in jobs including professional digital and broadcast reporters, editors, digital media producers, broadcast producers, hosts, presenters, and social media influencers.

General Education (41 hours)
General Education requirements (shown in curricular listings below) include courses in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences.

- Minor may be completed within the School of Journalism and Strategic Media but must reflect another area of study.
Electives (11-17 hours)
- Students in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media (SOJSM) must complete 50 hours in liberal arts and sciences including General Education requirements and one minor from outside SOJSM. Students must select at least nine hours of liberal arts/social sciences (beyond General Education); at least six hours of liberal arts/social science electives must come from courses at the 3000-level or higher.

Majors must have a C (2.00) or better in all Media and Entertainment courses.
