Cocurricular Programs

The Department of Theatre and Dance supports, directs, and staffs two cocurricular programs to supplement classroom theory and to benefit the University and surrounding communities. Students receive practical training through participation in cocurricular programs:

MTSU Dance Theatre-The MTSU Dance Theatre provides students with pre-professional performance experience while in college. Dance Theatre auditions take place during the first week of classes fall semester for the fall company and during the first week of classes spring semester for the spring company. The Dance Theatre company also produces an annual Student Gala, featuring student choreography.

MTSU Theatre-The MTSU Theatre presents several major productions during the academic year. All MTSU Theatre performances are open to the public. Students majoring in Theatre participate in some aspect of each production. However, participation is open to all members of the University.

Honors College

The Theatre and Dance Department offers Honors classes in DANC 1000  and THEA 1030 .
