ENGL 3595 - Sociolinguistics3 credit hours Prerequisite: Completion of 1000- and 2000-level English requirements with a grade of C- or better. Focuses on the role of language as a central means of locating ourselves in the world. Topics include dialect, accent, style, multilingualism, code switching, language in social media, language discrimination, language and national identity, language and gender, and English globalization.
