THM 3110 - Tourism Planning and Development3 credit hours Explores various dimensions of the role tourism plays in community and regional development. Discusses the theories and practices regarding tourism supply and demand, economic impact, tourism structure and policy, environmental and social considerations, travel and tourism research. Specific attention given to sustainability of the community and industry and the examination of the dynamics between social or economic development and the quality of life for the residents.
