The School of Nursing  offers the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) through the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) and the Master of Science in Professional Science (M.S.) degree in collaboration with the Biology and Mathematical Sciences departments.

The Master of Science in Nursing degree (M.S.N.) is delivered following the standard protocol established for the delivery of RODP courses and programs. The program includes four concentrations: Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Nursing Informatics, and Advanced Practice (Family Nurse Practitioner). Courses are offered each semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer) through all six Tennessee Board of Regents universities.

Please see undergraduate catalog for information regarding undergraduate programs.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education requires

  1. the student to be a registered nurse (R.N.);
  2. an earned bachelor’s degree. Those with an R.N. and B.S.N. are ready for admission into the M.S.N. program. Those who are currently an R.N. (in Tennessee or through a compact state) with a bachelor’s degree in any area and have a minimum of 3.00 grade point average (GPA) may qualify for this program through the bridge program. This bridge program requires that students take four assigned undergraduate courses and then bridge directly into the M.S.N. without having completed the B.S.N.
