The History Department offers the Master of Arts in History, Master of Arts in History with a concentration in Public History, and a Ph.D. in Public History as well as graduate certificates in Archival Management, Cultural Resources Management, Historic Preservation, and Museum Management.
The certificate of advanced study in Archival Management seeks to provide students with the opportunity to pursue advanced study in order to prepare for careers in archives, libraries, repositories, museums, and special collections. The certificate also provides a transitional bridge to the Ph.D. program in Public History. The graduate certificate in Archival Management provides an opportunity for students to take highly specialized courses through the Archival Education Collaborative (AEC), which includes MTSU, Indiana University, Auburn University, the University of Wisconsin, and Louisiana State University.
