The Media Management program offers preparation for work in behind-the-scenes areas of media operations such as broadcasting, distribution, production, management, marketing, and sales. The program combines business and creative aspects of media, and blends theoretical and hands-on approaches to education. Used for instruction are a 40-foot mobile video production lab, post-production facilities, and cross-platform media experiences in the Center for Innovation in Media. Students are encouraged to complete their education with internships in professional settings.

NOTE: Students must earn a C (2.00) or better in each course in the college in order to graduate.

Admission to Candidacy


To be admitted to candidacy in the media management specialty, the student must meet the following requirements:

  1. 45 hours completed before applying for candidacy
  2. Grade of C (2.00) or better in each of the following:

EMC 1020 /JOUR 1020 /RIM 1020  

EMC 3020 , EMC 3060 , or JOUR 2710  

ENGL 1010  and ENGL 1020  

EMC 2410    

EMC 2120     

  1. Minimum overall GPA in all college coursework of 2.50.
  2. Math course satisfying General Education requirements.
