Communication Studies Minor

Communication Studies encompasses both historical and contemporary theories in the study of the human condition. Students analyze messages and audiences in multiple contexts (individual to global) as well as develop an understanding and skills needed for both success in their careers and for increased personal development. Students should meet with a minor advisor to plan a course of study that would best fit career goals and interests.

The minor in Communication Studies requires 15 hours.

Required Courses (6 hours)

COMM 2300 - Interpersonal Communication 3 credit hours
COMM 3350 - Diversity in Communication 3 credit hours OR
COMM 3560 - Intercultural Communication 3 credit hours

Electives (9 hours)

9 hours from courses with a COMM prefix. COMM 2200 may not count toward Communication Studies minor requirements.
