Plant and Soil Science, B.S.

School of Agribusiness and Agriscience 

The program leading to a major in Plant and Soil Science is designed for students interested in agronomy, horticulture, and/or soil sciences. Students may choose to concentrate on either one of these areas within this major.

A major in Plant and Soil Science requires a minimum of 43 semester hours of courses to include

  1. 21 hours in Plant and Soil Science;
  2. an additional three (3)  hours from ABAS as indicated under the Plant and Soil Science major requirements; and
  3. a general core of ABAS 1000 ; ABAS 1410 ; ABAS 1610 ; ABAS 2210 ; ABAS 3010 ABAS 4100 , or  ABAS 4250 ; ABAS 3130 ; and ABAS 3340 . (ABAS 3010  not required for majors taking Secondary Education minor course (formerly YOED 4110 ) or participating in judging teams.)

A minor from another department is required.

Curricular listings include General Education  requirements in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences categories.

NOTE:


*Students taking Secondary Eduacation Minor course (formerly  YOED 4110 ) or participating in judging teams may substitute ABAS 4480  or ABAS 4590 .
