The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers the Master of Science with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Mathematics at the graduate level.
Five concentrations are offered under the Master of Science: Actuarial and Financial Mathematics (students who need specialized training in actuarial and financial mathematics as well as internship experience should choose this concentration), General Mathematics (students desiring a broad background in mathematics should pursue this concentration); Industrial Mathematics (students interested in positions in industry or further graduate work in applied mathematics should pursue this concentration), Mathematics Education (students desiring to increase their mathematical knowledge for the secondary and early tertiary levels should pursue this concentration), Research Preparation (students wishing to pursue the Ph.D. in Mathematics should choose this concentration).
The department offers courses in the Master of Science in Professional Science degree. Students interested in a concentration in Biostatistics or Actuarial Sciences should refer to the Master’s of Science in Professional Science program.
An Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s (ABM) program is also offered. Students in the Mathematics ABM are able to earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in five (5) years. Students interested in this program should contact the department for additional information.
