ATHT 6500 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology in Health Care4 credit hours Corequisite: ATHT 6501 . Pathophysiology of various illnesses and medical conditions across the lifespan and in special populations. Educate, develop, and implement strategies and care plans (therapeutic, nutritional, and pharmacologic) to mitigate risk of long-term health conditions. Educate patients on pharmacological agents regarding indications, contraindications, dosing, interactions, and adverse reactions. Develop skills and techniques for appropriate route of administration of therapeutic agents as ordered by the physician or other provider with prescribing authority including but not limited to: oral, transdermal, injection, intravenous, suppositories, nebulizers, etc. Patient care plans developed for different situations.
