MRAT 6010 - Recording in Cultural Context3 credit hours Provides students with an accelerated introduction to the field of popular music studies. Inquiry focuses on recorded music as a commodified form of commercial art and its relationship between those who make it and those who consume it. Historical, legal, and rhetorical methodologies, as well as theoretical approaches drawn from cultural studies examined.
