SW 2750 - Introduction to Substance Abuse

3 credit hours

Prerequisite: SW 2570 recommended but not required. Provides an overview of issues related to substance abuse. Addresses the role of social workers and other helping professionals, models of addiction, treatment and recovery. Introduces evidence-based intervention strategies and the effects of addiction on family systems and communities.
