CHEM 4400 - Inorganic Chemistry I3 credit hours Prerequisites: CHEM 1120 or equivalent; CHEM 3010 recommended. The basic concepts and theories of inorganic chemistry and how these are used to predict and understand the physical and chemical properties of compounds of the elements other than carbon. Chemistry of ions of the elements as it takes place in water, in solid-state salts, and in complexes, along with the chemistry of a selection of representative inorganic and organometallic molecules.
