ACSI 5140 - Mathematical Foundations of Actuarial Science3 credit hours Prerequisite: STAT 3150 or consent of instructor. Integrates probability and risk management topics into fundamental tools for assessing risk in an actuarial environment. Probability topics include random variables, distributions, conditional probability, independence, and central limit theorems. Risk topics include frequency and severity. Insurance concepts such as retention, deductible, coinsurance, and risk premiums.
