ACSI 5220 - Mathematics of Corporation Finance3 credit hours Prerequisites: ACSI/MATH 4200/ACSI 5200 /MATH 5200 and ECON 2410, 2420, or consent of instructor. A preparatory course for the Society of Actuaries/Casualty Actuarial Society Course/Exam 2. Applies calculus and theory of interest tools to intermediate topics in microeconomics. Topics include the mathematics of supply, demand, and equilibrium; prices, costs, and the gains from trade; consumer behavior; elasticities; competition; monopoly; market power, collusion, and oligopoly; the mathematics of risk and uncertainty; and surplus economics.
