CDIS 3250 - Speech and Language Development for the Educator3 credit hours Topics include theories of development of language in children from birth through the age eight (approximate end of the developmental period); the impact of the development of oral language on the teaching of reading and writing; an overview of the common speech and language problems seen in the school-aged child; and the influence of environmental factors on the child’s ability to communicate and learn.
