GEOG 4325 - Global Geo-Political Economics3 credit hours Prerequisite: GS 2010 , GEOG 2000 , ECON 2410 , or PS 1010 . Overview of global economic and political systems from a geographic perspective. Emergence and growth of a global economy and changing geo-political boundaries examined historically to present day using spatial and temporal analyses used by geographers. Examines role of transnationalism in global economies, the changing concept of nation-states, and evolution of sections of the global economy. Global case studies such as NAFTA, OPEC, and EU examined along with regional and local examples. Requires field work.
