GEOL 4000 - Petrology and Petrography

4 credit hours

Prerequisite: GEOL 3000. Igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Theories of formation and evolution based upon mineralogical and geochemical evidence. Examination and classification of rocks in hand sample and thin section. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week.
