A hands-on laboratory and field-based course. Students will learn how to collect, preserve, and analyze samples commonly measured for environmental assessment.

Concepts and theorems of classical thermodynamics revisited on the basis of quantum and statistical mechanics applied to simple molecular models. Necessary mathematical apparatus discussed in sufficient detail, but only at applied level. Laboratory session provides hands-on experience with quantum-chemistry computational software to predict thermochemical and spectroscopic properties of molecules. CHEM 4380 - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Experimental Methods
