The Applied Physics concentration is designed for students interested in fields not traditionally associated with a physics degree, but that value the critical thinking and problem-solving skills associated with a physics major.

Degree Requirements
A 2.00 GPA is required in the Physics major.
General Education (41 hours)
General Education requirements (shown in curricular listings below) include courses in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences.
The following courses are required by the program and can satisfy the respective General Education requirement:
- MATH 1910 (Math)
- CHEM 1110/1111 (Nat Sci)
- PHYS 2010/2011 or PHYS 2110/2111 (Nat Sci) recommended
Major Requirements (48 hours)
Physics Core (25 hours)
A 2.00 GPA is required in the Physics major.
Applied Physics Concentration (23-24 hours)
Supporting Courses (20 hours)
Electives
- To make 120 hours; at least 18 credit hours of cognate/electives must be 3000/4000 level
Cognate Elective Areas (15 hours)
Advanced Physics or Astronomy
Any upper-division PHYS/ASTR including:
