Science, General Science Concentration with Teacher Licensure, B.S.

Chemistry  

Students may become licensed to teach biology, chemistry, or physics in secondary schools (grades 7-12) by completing (1) a major in science with a General Science concentration in which 19 hours of coursework has been taken in two of three areas of chemistry, biology, or physics; (2) courses in addition to the General Education requirements (see advisor); and (3) a minor in Secondary Education through MTeach.

A minimum of 9 semester hours of upper-division courses in either concentration of the Science major must be taken at MTSU. The Science major requires only one minor which must include at least 3 semester hours at the upper-division level taken at MTSU.

Students may also become licensed to teach biology, chemistry, or physics by majoring in the subject they intend to teach (see requirements listed under the specific major).
