A major in Economics with a concentration in Labor Relations leading to the B.B.A. degree requires 50 percent of the required major hours to be completed in residence at MTSU. The program below includes a Business Administration minor. An alternate business minor may be chosen, but it may require total hours for graduation to exceed 120.

Economics majors are encouraged to enroll in Honors sections of 2410 and 2420.

Degree Requirements


General Education (41 hours)


General Education  requirements (shown in curricular listings below) include courses in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences.

The following General Education courses are required for this major:

  • MATH 1630 (Math)
  • ECON 2410 (Soc/Beh Sci and core course)

College of Business Core (42 hours)


All students must complete the College of Business Core  which requires 42 hours with a 2.000 GPA. ECON 2410 is included in the core and will also satisfy 3 hours from the Social/Behavioral General Education requirement.
