The program in Communication Studies is designed to provide students with maximum opportunities to develop theoretical and practical appreciation of all phases of human communication. For students following the Communication Studies concentration, preparation is offered for entry into communication work in business, industry, and government or for the pursuit of graduate study in a number of fields.

Communication Studies Concentration


Courses focus on developing a wide range of skills to promote effective communication, problem-solving abilities and knowledge of diverse cultures in order to prepare students for a wide variety of careers.

Students pursuing the Communication Studies concentration plan of study must also select at least one minor.

Curriculum: Organizational Communication, Communication Studies Concentration


Curricular listings include General Education  requirements in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences categories.

All students pursuing a  major within this department must complete the General Education requirements. The following is a suggested pattern of study for the first two years; however, consultation with the assigned advisor is necessary before each registration.
