LITS 7150 - Multilingualism and Literacy3 credit hours Prerequisite: Permission of department. Explores the relationship between multilingualism and literacy and the interplay of the dominant forces involved in shaping this often vexed relationship. Focuses on the impact of multilingualism on literacy acquisition in the North American context as well as the role of U.S. educational policies and societal attitudes on multilingual literacy development.
