ECON 7250 - Methods of Outcome Assessment

3 credit hours
Prerequisites:   and  . Deals with outcomes assessment of the educational process. Covers techniques to rank educational institutions, methods to assess the effectiveness of educational programs, ways to evaluate individual courses or instructors, and methods to assess student learning. Key quantitative tools that are used in outcomes assessment, including data envelope analysis, stochastic frontier models, and hierarchical linear models. Also considers the political and incentive problems that typically arise in implementing assessment methods in practice.
